We are a small group of mental health professionals working as a team in Erode, Tamilnadu, India, in an effort to bring world-class mental health care to our people. In furthering our endeavour we have realised that working with illness and disorders in a clinical setting is not sufficient. We have therefore created a wing to further knowledge about the significance of mental health and prevention of psychological disorders, in the current socio-political environment of a liberalised, globalised, 21st century India, that wants to pride itself as a “Knowledge Super-power”.

Our clinical work is under the banner of “Manathin Maiyam”. Our education and training activities are undertaken under the name “Centre of Mind”.

We say this with confidence and pride since we have dedicated ourselves to years of clinical work with continuing training and education and uncompromising adherence to internationally accepted standards and protocols of assessment, documentation, treatment and care.

All this has come at a cost to us, in a country such as ours, where quantity still rules over quality. We march on with our dedication to quality in whatever we do, with the belief that it will take us places. Our efforts are ultimately aimed at de-stigmatising mental health care and at bringing a world-class service to our town, thereby contributing our bit towards a better India.
